Basic Safety:
If you wish to try International Skeet, please see Rich at the clubhouse.
This is Skeet with muscle. It's an Olympic sport, where targets are harder to break,
fly 50% faster, have a random delay (0-3 second) release, and you can't mount
the gun until the target is seen. The shells are also a lighter load. This sport still
has 25 targets per round. The same shooting stations as regular Skeet but the
less difficult shots are replaced with more difficult ones. If you are looking for a challenge this is it!
Tips to increase results:
Start by learning to shoot American Skeet. When you are comfortable with the game its time to start learning the sport. The three beginning steps are; don't move the gun until the target is seen, mounting the gun, and speed of the target.
Start slow by practicing steps 1 & 2 while shooting American Skeet. Then start shooting International Skeet to combine all three steps. This sport like any sport requires a lot of practice.
Mounting the gun is key.It must be a continuous motion from the moment the target is seen to follow through. Our athletes report that they practice mounting the gun one hundred times and more daily, outside of shooting practice.
